Genentics - Boy or Girl - Punnett Squares

Scientists use a gird-like tool call a Punnett square to make predictions about various inheritance problems. The Punnett square shows only the probability of what might occur and not the actual results. probability is the chance of something occuring. if you flip a coin 100 times, since there are 2 sides to the coin, you would expect 50 heads and 50 tails. if you actually flip the coin 100 times, you may actually get 40 head and 60 tails. prediction is one thing, and actually getting the predicted results is another.

The Punnett square only shows the chances of what might occur each time the event is undertaken.

Volcanoes

What are the types of volcanoes? - Cinder Cone Volcanoes, Composite Volcanoes, Shield Volcanoes, Lava Domes

What are the Top10 most active volcanoes in the world?

1. Eyjafjallajökull, Iceland
2. Mount Vesuvius, Italy
3. Sakurajima, Japan
4. Mount Merapi, Indonesia
5. Mount Nyiragongo, D.R of Congo
6. Ulawun, Papua New Guinea
7. Taal Volcano, Philippines
8. Mauna Loa, Hawaii
9. Galeras, Colombia
10. Santa María, Guatemala

What are the 5 biggest ever eruptions?
5 - Mount Vesuvius
4 - Mount Ruiz
3 - Mount Pelée
2 - Mount Krakatoa
1 - Mount Tambora

What happens during an eruption?
An eruption begins when pressure on a magma chamber forces magma up through the conduit and out the volcano's vents. When the magma chamber has been completely filled, the type of eruption partly depends on the amount of gases and silica in the magma. The amount of silica determines how sticky (level of viscosity) the magma is and water provides the explosive potential of steam.

Obstacles also influence the type of eruption. When the pipe is blocked by a stopple or an accumulation of pumice, the pressure in the pipe will build up very high resulting in an explosion.

When magma reaches earth's surface it is called lava. It may pour out in gentle streams called lava flows or erupt violently into the air. Rocks ripped loose from the inside of the volcano or torn apart by the gas may be shot into the air with the lava. These rocks blown out of a volcano are called pyroclastic rocks. The rock fragments fall back to earth as dust, ash, bombs, blocks, cinder and pummice.

Volcanic activity is classified by how often a volcano erupts. A volcano may be active, intermittent, dormant, or extinct. Active volcanoes erupt constantly. Intermittent volcanoes erupt fairly regularly. Dormant volcanoes are inactive, but not long enough to determine whether they will erupt again or not. Extinct volcanoes have been inactive since the beginning of recorded history

Does the Sun have any affects on volcanism?

Creative story of Immagration to New Zealand in the 1850s

On a Normal London day, Where the Streets are Overcrowded of people, and the skies are full of pollution and we cant see the blue skies nor the big sun. I walk down the steps of my house on the side of the street and I start to walk down the street to my work place where I see Children running in and out of the building. Once I Finished my day at work I start to walk home, and on my street I see a lot more smoke in the air, then I Notice that there are people running away from smoke and then I see men with water running toward a FIRE. it was my house that was on fire and my family was in the house burning alive. I turn around unset then I see this poster on the lamppost saying "Come to the strange land of New Zealand". So I get all that I have left and leave to go to New Zealand to start a new life.

Once I Got the ship we set sail to New Zealand I had got a cabin for myself so I don't need to share a room with other people to have less chances of getting some Disease. I go and meet the captain to thank him for the cabin, on my way to the captain I notice that there is another ship with us going to New Zealand. Once I Reach where the captain is I overheard him say "there is Ice on the journey and lets hope that one of the ships don't sink". Then I Walk around the corner where the captain is and we have a long talk. It has been a few months on the journey to New Zealand and then I see land and start to hear people saying it New Zealand. Once the ship had landed I got off with all my stuff and a man called me over and said "were of to go to you new house sir".

Tomorrow when the war began story

Chapter One

Me and my friends found these kids just sleeping in the open like a it was 2 weeks ago and we thought why not go over and say hello to them and offer them some tea and cookies like we done with everyone else, so we start to go over there then we see some people running over there to take their stuff and worse. Then they all wake up and grab guns and run away from us because the the people trying to take their stuff and we chase and kill the raiders to help the kids and take them back to the camp sites with everyone else. But once we killed the raiders the kids were nowhere to be seen. A bit later we founded the kids then we looked away the get the tea and cookies out and they had ……..

Chapter two

tried to escape by shooting at us so we kind of shot back they had bolt action rifles and we had fully automatic rifles so it was an unfair fight, to begin with, we stop shooting at them after we had hit one of them by what looked like the back of the head
and when they saw that they started to charge at us screaming a rather rude word and then we started to fire again i loaded a whole mag into a male and he still kept coming at us and once we saw him hit the ground the bandits began to scream homer and they ran for a truck and what seemed to be a woman standing on the back of a truck with a rocket launcher and with a blink of an eye my whole squad had been taken out I manage to get a few shots on the woman and she crumbled under the weight of the rocket launcher and hit the ground with a thud at that moment I realised I was the last one left out of my squad able to fight then I was grabbed by the back of my neck and i was being strangled so i turned and hit a girl and she screamed with pain and then I felt an ear piercing sound and at that moment i had just realised I had been shot. i fell to the ground on my knees in pain i manage to look at my attacker and i thought this is it im going to die from a teenager and then i heard another bang and the boy hit the ground and fell silite and didn't move then i look from where the gunshot came from my team mate we both were on the ground but he was less ingerd than me. he got up and helped me up so my feet and he said that the others ran away and he said that the other patrol will take care of them he said that they dropped their guns and ran after we killed that girl on the truck he looked over to where the girl was on the ground crying he told me what happened to her I said that I hit here in the face and he said we will take her back and integrate her  and offer her tea and cookies  and he said and for you need a doctor i will call for backup he said. and after a few minutes later a truck  arrived to pick up my squad well what was left of my squad. for me though I was airlifted to the hospital.

Tomorrow When the War Began Chapter Twelve

1) "they say teenagers can sleep all day". is this true - No it is not true because we all have different sleeping hour and if that was true then you could say that adult can sleep all day

2) Ellies dream at the beginning of the chapter is rather nonsensical, as dreams are wont to be. Is there any meaning to it? Try and explain what Ellie’s subconscious could be thinking about: why is her dad cooking for the whole town? Why did Father Cronin ignore Ellie’s greeting? Why was Corrie 8 years old again? Why were they sailing off on a boat? Why was Lee undressing?

3) Why is it so terrible that Chris falls asleep while on sentry duty? How does Ellie react? Why do you think she reacts this way? How does she feel about her reaction later? - Chris could have been asleep when soldiers came by found the group, Ellies is mad, if soldiers came by they would have all died, Ellie's feels bad after getting mad at Chris

4) Back in Hell, Ellie’s dreams are far more ominous. Explain why Ellie is dreaming of her fears. - Ellie is in a place where she doesn't feel safe

Friday, 17 August 2018

6) What is Homer’s explanation for the need to swap cars at Chris Lang’s place? What does this show about the way he is thinking? - Because the soldiers have seen the BMW and Not the other cars.

Migration Video

Migration - a movement of people to a new area or country in order to find work or better living conditions.
Push Factor - Push factors come in many forms. Sometimes these factors leave people with no choice but to leave their country of origin
Pull Factor - Whereas push factors drive migrants out of their countries of origin, pull factors are responsible for dictating where these travellers end up. The positive aspects of some countries serve to attract more immigrants than others.
Cultural - Cultural Factors have to do within a person’s beliefs, moral values, traditions, language, and rules of behaviour that are followed by a certain group of people. This also has to do with cultural beliefs, gender roles, and customs
Economic - An Economic Factor is the information that affects a business or its investment’s value.
Social - Social push factors include a lack of social mobility and job restrictions. For example, in the 1800's, Italians were restricted by social class. If you were born a peasant, you would always remain a peasant. No matter how hard you worked, there was no way to move up the social ladder. As a result, many Italians began to immigrate to the U.S.
Political - Political factors that drive people from their mother country include persecution and government restrictions on citizens. The Jews were persecuted for many years in Europe, especially during World War II. Many decided to leave and find new homes in the U.S
Environment - People migrate due to environmental reasons, pulled towards physically attractive areas and pushed from hazardous zones. In the process of immigrants trying to migrate they may face intervening obstacles

Tomorrow, When the War Began Chapter Four

1) Do you think the way they handled the snake incident was appropriate what could they have done differently - just left it to go off when it gets bored

2) Ellie claims that ‘Hell’ is only a label and that people label things all the time, often ignoring or overlooking certain labelled places or things. She then comes to the conclusion that ‘Hell was people’. Is she right? What’s your opinion, on labelling and Hell - it can be both some people could be satan and the place they run is Hell like Hitler & German Reich or Stalin & Soviet Union.

3) What was especially peculiar about the planes that flew over Hell? ‘Their ------, their ------, their----- frightened me.’ Do these characteristics have any significance - their will be something later on in the movie with planes

4) Corrie and Kevin are the only couple in the group, but the trip was bound to bring friends closer. So why does Homer’s interest in Fi seem so odd to Ellie - because ellie was a chush on homer and doesnt want homer to go out with Fi

5) Fi brushes off the planes coming back from Commemoration Day. Why do you think the planes were flying over Wirrawee - to attack australia for this war in the book

6) Robyn claims there were dozens and dozens of planes flying over them. What is Lee’s response? Is his suggestion resonable - Its the start of ww3
